Catherine Cruz Rudolph (Cathy), originally from Guam, moved to San Francisco a year after completing high school. While away from the island, Cathy wrote and self-published a book of poetry. It was the verses in this book and a series of personal relationships and friendships that inspired her to compose several songs.

Writing a story that takes place in San Francisco to go with the songs followed after Cathy moved to Los Angeles. While there, she met Jennifer Morgan Nugent and invited her to further develop three characters, re-write their dialogues, and contribute six songs. Upon near completion of the musical, Cathy returned to Guam to produce “City Hearts The Musical.” Fast forward to 2018…it has been a long journey and our goal and aspiration now is to produce the musical in the San Francisco Bay Area, where the story about love, romance, heartbreak and friendship takes place.

“City Hearts The Musical” could be further developed to include an orchestra, choreography and more sophisticated sets. Our wish is for the musical to be produced in the Bay Area under the direction of an established artistic director.

“And I'll dance until the stars slowly fade to darkness and the moon turns to cheese. How clever? Am I a romantic fool or what? No - I think I'm just in love…”

  • Julia

I didn't care about the pain and the heartache and the tears. That I could deal with. What I couldn't handle was the reality. The fact that I had lost at the game of love.”

You know - we can be emotional too, but it's not the manly thing to do - to wear our hearts on our sleeves.”
